The governorship election in Ekiti State was marred by widespread irregularities, including the siting of polling units in front of private residences, interference by polling agents in the voting process, and the rewarding of voters after they cast their ballots.
Speaking during an interview with SaharaReporters from the Situation Room monitoring the election, Celestine Okwudili Odo, Head of Programmes and Policy at ActionAid Nigeria, raised concerns over multiple breaches of electoral regulations and voter secrecy observed during the poll.
