An alleged serial rapist will make his appearance at the Durban High Court in July for a pre-trial conference.
A 36-year-old alleged serial rapist from Ntshawini, KwaDukuza, is scheduled to appear in the Durban High Court in July to face 39 charges, including 12 counts of rape, kidnapping, and robbery.
The State alleges a consistent modus operandi in a series of rapes committed between 2013 and 2016, where victims were kidnapped at knife-point while walking and forced into the bushes, where they were forced to take off their clothes and raped.
The accused's criminal history began on January 28, 2013, in Darnell, KwaDukuza, when he and an accomplice kidnapped, raped, and robbed an adult woman at knifepoint.
Less than a month later, on February 23, he kidnapped a minor female near Whimbrel Road in Mandeni and raped her. This pattern continued on March 14, 2013, near New Guilderland, where he kidnapped both a minor and an adult woman, raping the minor and robbing the adult. The following day, he targeted another minor in the same vicinity.
