A 32-year-old man is set to appear in court after his vehicle was linked to multiple house robberies and a serious rape incident in the Western Cape.

A High speed car chase ended when police apprehended suspect for multiple robberies and even a rape incident.

A 32-year-old man will face the music in the the Somerset West Magistrate’s Court after police said the robberies occurred in various locations, including Bothasig, Table View, Stellenbosch, and Kleinmond.

According to Thembakazi Mpendukana, spokesperson for the Western Cape police, a targeted crime-combating operation by the Somerset West Crime Prevention Unit led to the discovery of the suspect's vehicle.

“The police spotted a grey Honda BRV that was linked with the above-mentioned cases on the N2 Road on Wednesday, July 8, at about 5.45am. An attempt to stop the vehicle was made, but the suspect drove at high speed in the direction of Cape Town along the N2,"” Mpendukana said.
