Utility forward Vincent Tshituka will lead an exciting SA ‘A’ team against Zimbabwe on Saturday as they play the curtain-raiser for the Springboks vs Barbarians match in Gqeberha.
Springbok utility forward Vincent Tshituka admits being named captain of the South Africa ‘A’ side for Saturday’s clash against Zimbabwe in Gqeberha (12pm kick-off) is one of the proudest moments of his rugby career.
Having made his own breakthrough into the Springbok set-up last season, the 27-year-old will now lead a squad featuring a blend of exciting Junior Springboks and experienced campaigners in what is set to be a thrilling curtain-raiser to the Boks’ clash against the Barbarians at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
The match against Zimbabwe, who are preparing for the 2027 Rugby World Cup, will provide an opportunity for some of South Africa’s brightest young talents to make a name for themselves as they push for higher honours beyond the current World Cup cycle.
For Tshituka, the honour comes with responsibility, and he is determined to lead through his actions while helping to guide the next generation of players taking their first steps in the national system.
