Springbok assistant coach Deon Davids says the SA 'A' team is expecting a stern examination from neighbours Zimbabwe in Saturday’s curtain-raiser to the Springboks v Barbarians match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Under former Western Province flyhalf Pieter Benade (2004-2006), the Sables have qualified for the 2027 World Cup in Australia.
“They are a well-structured team, looking at the games they have played,” said Davids. “Zimbabwe, over the years have always delivered quality players that became good Springboks.
“If you look at their team now, they have (lock) Gary Porter from the Stormers, (flank) Tino Mavesere from the Sharks, and (wing/fullback) Tapiwa Mafura of the Lions. They are good players.
