Varna Municipality has launched formal proceedings to remove a series of illegal buildings in the Baba Alino area, with Mayor Blagomir Kotsev announcing that 12 demolition orders were issued on Friday and that the first has already been signed.

Speaking at a briefing, Kotsev said the targeted structures are multi-family residential buildings containing four apartments each. The properties belong to Forest Club, a company owned by Oleg Nevzorov. According to the mayor, the buildings are currently unoccupied.

The municipality’s investigation found that construction had been carried out on the basis of four tolerance certificates. However, officials concluded that the certificates did not correspond to the actual locations of the buildings and instead referred to entirely different sites.

“The municipality spent sufficient time preparing these orders so that they would be legally precise and able to withstand judicial review,” Kotsev said, explaining that the administration had taken extra care to ensure the documentation was properly prepared.

The mayor stressed that the current actions are only part of a broader process. Additional orders are expected to be issued regularly, with new cases being processed every week until all structures deemed illegal are covered by the procedure.
