A Lagos mother has been arraigned before a magistrate court after allegedly using a blade to inflict injuries on her eight-year-old son in the Alakuko area of Lagos State, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has disclosed.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, came to light after concerned community members noticed the injured child and ensured he received urgent medical attention before alerting authorities.
According to the DSVA, preliminary findings indicated that the mother inflicted the injuries on the child after accusing him of stealing money from her. She was subsequently apprehended by relevant authorities, who commenced investigations and legal processes.
