Boeing reported that its Q4S satellite payload successfully demonstrated high-fidelity entanglement swapping during ground testing, marking a step toward space-based quantum networking.
The compact, space-qualified payload also completed environmental qualification testing and is undergoing final spacecraft integration ahead of a planned 2027 launch and one-year on-orbit demonstration.
Boeing said the mission is intended to validate quantum networking technologies that could support future secure communications, precision timing, distributed sensing and a global quantum internet.
