ABUJA — A civil society organization (CSO), the Initiative Against Human Rights Abuse & Torture (INAHURAT), has asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to immediately enforce an interim forfeiture order issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja over disputed properties in Abuja.
The group, made up of lawyers and led by human rights activist Dr. Maxwell Opara, said Justice Joyce Abdulmalik issued the interim forfeiture order in respect of properties located in the Guzape and Katampe districts following a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/151/2026, which was filed against a developer, Mrs. Rebecca Godwin-Isaac.
Briefing newsmen in Abuja, the rights body noted that the interim order was granted to safeguard the properties, pending the determination of a criminal case bordering on alleged land fraud, which is before the court.
