The interim forfeiture was granted by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin after the court held that the anti-graft agency had met all the legal conditions required for the order.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has secured an interim forfeiture order on a lounge and a four-bedroom bungalow located in Ado-Ekiti, following allegations of fraud involving nearly N2 billion.
The interim forfeiture was granted by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin after the court held that the anti-graft agency had met all the legal conditions required for the order.
According to a statement issued by the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the EFCC on Tuesday, the properties affected by the court order include “Town Tavern Lounge located at No. 1, Ikere Road, off Florence Court School, Ado-Ekiti,” as well as “a four-bedroom bungalow located along Florence Court, Irewolede Estate, Ado-Ekiti.”
The commission disclosed that the properties were allegedly linked to one Olorunbukunmi Taiwo, 43, who is accused of defrauding a woman identified as Lady Anazia Colina Kenechukwu of the sum of “N1,980,000,000 (One Billion, Nine Hundred and Eighty Million Naira only).”
