During the night leading into June 18, precipitation across Bulgaria is expected to gradually weaken and come to an end. Cloud cover will continue to break up, with mostly clear skies establishing over much of the country. Winds will remain light, generally coming from the southwest.
Thursday will begin with predominantly sunny conditions nationwide. In the early morning hours, some areas in southern Bulgaria may experience temporarily reduced visibility. Later in the day, atmospheric instability will increase again.
Cumulus and cumulonimbus cloud development is expected in the afternoon, particularly over mountainous regions and parts of eastern Bulgaria. These conditions will bring localized short-term rainfall and thunderstorms, with a continued risk of isolated hail.
Daytime temperatures are forecast to range between 26°C and 31°C. The highest values will be recorded in the Danube Plain and the Upper Thracian Lowland, while coastal areas along the Black Sea will remain cooler at 21°C to 25°C. In Sofia, maximum temperatures are expected to reach around 26°C, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).
