Zoe Robb claimed that Spar banned her from the store after buying food for a woman and her child.

A viral TikTok video has placed Cape Town's Kloof Street KwikSPAR under the spotlight after content creator Zoe Robb claimed she was banned from the store for trying to buy groceries for a woman and her child.

But the store has hit back, saying Robb was never banned and that staff were instead dealing with what management describes as a "plague" of repeat offenders who allegedly ask shoppers to buy goods before returning them for cash.

The video, which has been widely shared on social media, shows Robb recounting how she met a woman and her daughter at a traffic light before offering to help them with food.

"She was well-dressed. She was not homeless. She smelled good. Her child was well-dressed and well-behaved as well," Robb said.
