“South Africans are lazy! They don’t want to work! They want everything for free!”
These are some of the loud accusations dominating heated debates around immigration — specifically African immigration. It has been a ticking time bomb for years and is now being weaponised by political parties.
But nobody has truly confronted the accusations levelled against black South Africans. Instead, behind closed doors and within social circles, many quietly repeat them: “South Africans don’t want to work. They’re entitled. Foreigners work harder. They’re more educated.”
