Western Cape police are investigating two incidents of “pills” being found in packets of chips bought from spaza shops.
On Wednesday, Wesbank residents took to the streets when white pills were allegedly found inside a chips packet purchased at a foreign national tuck shop in Swartkop Street.
It is alleged that the chips were purchased at the tuck shop, and when it was opened, small white pills were found inside the packet.
Residents took to the streets demanding that the shop be closed down and alerted police, who arrived at the scene.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that the matter is under investigation.
