NSW’s ruling Labor Party will consider giving workers two more public holidays to take the annual tally to 14 and even up the ledger with Victoria in a move businesses warned could send some small operators to the wall.

Motions to amend the NSW Labor platform, proposed by the public sector and shop workers unions, argue NSW workers need a permanent public holiday when ANZAC Day falls on a weekend and two additional holidays, including a family and community day in September.
