The Greek tourism industry faces an urgent need for a flexible bookings policy and adaptability, given the general trend of last-minute reservations for this summer season, according to an Institute of Greek Tourism Confederation study based on data from GWI Travel.
The survey also showed considerable differences in traveler behavior from country to country, rendering essential a market-specific strategy of approach and pricing.
For instance, the Germans and the British tend to book earlier and are more tolerant to higher fares and room rates, while Italians and Spaniards prefer last-minute bookings.
