The bail application for three security guards accused of attacking an e-hailing driver and his passengers in KwaNdengezi, west of Durban, has been postponed to Wednesday, June 17, pending further investigation into claims that two of the accused may have been on parole at the time of the incident.

Njabulo Ndimande, Bongani Mazibuko and Mduduzi Mnyaka appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate's Court on Friday, where they were expected to apply for bail.

The three men, believed to be employed by On Call Security, were arrested on June 4 after a video allegedly showing them assaulting an e-hailing driver and his passengers went viral on social media. The incident reportedly took place in KwaNdengezi on June 3.

They face charges of attempted murder, malicious damage to property and assault.
