The horrific accident occurred on a busy section of the highway, connecting Ngodwana and Waterval Onder.
The MEC for Public Works, Roads and Transport in Mpumalanga, Thulasizwe Thomo, expressed profound sadness regarding the crash.
In a statement, Thomo conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery for the lone passenger who sustained critical injuries and was immediately transported to a local hospital for urgent medical care.
