The circulation of a video showing an event featuring music and dancing at a cafe in northern Tehran has led to the business being sealed and judicial cases being opened against its management.
Mizan News Agency, the official media outlet of the Islamic Republic's judiciary, reported that the Tehran Prosecutor's Office intervened after images of the event were shared online. Deeming the activities "contrary to legal and religious standards," authorities ordered the immediate sealing of the establishment.
According to the report, in addition to shuttering the venue, judicial files have been officially opened to prosecute the cafe's operators.
In a statement addressing the incident, the Tehran Prosecutor's Office declared that crackdowns on establishments violating laws, regulations, and Islamic codes will continue decisively within the framework of the law, and necessary judicial action will be taken wherever violations are verified. The judiciary's media report did not disclose the name of the cafe, the exact time the closure order was executed, or any further details regarding the business's specific location.
