According to the AAC, the judgment delivered by Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja amounts to a direct assault on political pluralism and democratic participation.
The African Action Congress (AAC) has strongly condemned the recent Federal High Court judgment ordering the deregistration of five political parties, describing the decision as a "judicial rascality" and a calculated attack on Nigeria's multiparty democratic system.
In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Rex I. Elanu, the party expressed solidarity with the affected political parties, namely the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Accord Party (A), Action Alliance (AA), Action Peoples Party (APP), and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
The AAC accused the administration of President Bola Tinubu of attempting to weaken opposition voices through judicial and political means, warning that the development poses a serious threat to democratic governance in the country.
"TINUBU'S LATEST ASSAULT ON DEMOCRACY MUST BE RESISTED," the party declared in the statement.
