The Federal High Court, Abuja Division, has ordered the deregistration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and four other political parties for failing to meet constitutional requirements for recognition.

Justice Peter Lifu, in a judgment delivered on Monday, directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the affected parties after they failed to secure 25 per cent of the votes in the last general elections, in line with the provisions of the law, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
