Senny Mayulu is staying put. The teenage midfielder has signed a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain, ending months of speculation that saw Chelsea and Bayern Munich circling one of European football’s most exciting young talents.
The decision caps off a saga that had PSG fans nervously watching the clock. Mayulu’s previous deal ran through June 30, 2027. A player entering his final 12-18 months of contract becomes a walking discount, and clubs like Chelsea don’t need a second invitation.
From stalled talks to a signature
Negotiations between PSG and Mayulu’s camp had been rocky for months, with the club’s initial offers reportedly rejected as discussions paused entirely around March 2026.
The sticking point was salary. Mayulu’s representatives pushed for compensation that reflected his rapid rise from academy prospect to first-team regular, while PSG tried to balance rewarding a teenager who had only signed his first professional contract in May 2024 against setting a precedent that could ripple through the squad.
