Two members of the medical staff at Montazeri Hospital in Najafabad, Dr. Pedram Hadipour and Subhan Nourian, have been held in detention for several months on security-related charges, according to reports released by human rights organizations.
The documentation indicates that Dr. Hadipour, a physician, and Nourian, an anesthesia nurse, were arrested in May this year. To date, judicial and security authorities of the Islamic Republic have not officially disclosed the specific nature of the allegations leveled against them.
Montazeri Hospital in Najafabad emerged as a critical medical facility during the nationwide protests in January 2026, serving as a primary treatment center where numerous wounded demonstrators were brought. Since then, the hospital has been repeatedly highlighted in various media and human rights investigations.
Several human rights advocates and social media users have linked the arrest of the two healthcare professionals to the medical care they provided to injured protesters during the unrest. However, no judicial authority or independent body has verified this claim, and the formal justification for their arrest remains undisclosed.
At present, no precise details have been made available regarding the status of their legal cases, their current place of detention, access to legal counsel, or tentative trial dates. Human rights organizations continue to demand full transparency from authorities regarding their condition and legal status.
