Discover how noble actions can lead to individual and societal transformation. The writer explores this issue from the perspective of the teachings of Bahá’u’lláh on the importance of living our values.

Good deeds and noble actions are admired by all. We all appreciate kindness, compassion and justice, and wish to be treated with the same consideration by others. Yet recognizing what is moral and ethical is not enough. This knowledge has to be put into action. We need to be consciously and actively engaged in performing deeds that promote individual and social transformation.

We all would like to live in a better world. Bahá’u’lláh, the founder of the Bahá’í Faith, says: “The betterment of the world can be accomplished through pure and goodly deeds, through commendable and seemly conduct”. His words highlight the importance of, not only good actions, but also the spirit in which they are performed. When deeds are motivated by sincerity, purity of intention, and genuine concern for others, greatest results are achieved.

“One can hardly imagine what a great influence genuine love, truthfulness and purity of motives exert on the souls of men. But these traits cannot be acquired by any believer unless he makes a daily effort to gain them”, confirm the Bahá’í Writings.
