Police have arrested three men accused of operating a theft ring that targeted air-conditioning units at schools and businesses in Athens’ southern suburbs.
Investigators said the suspects, aged 41, 38 and 36, had allegedly been stealing outdoor air-conditioning units since at least February.
Police have linked the group to five thefts, including three at public schools in the coastal suburb of Glyfada.
To evade detection, the suspects allegedly used three different vehicles and switched cars during the thefts.
The men were arrested in nearby Voula, where officers recovered four air-conditioning units, related components and a large number of tools believed to have been used in the crimes.
