A man appeared in court for allegedly forcing his friend to take drugs and then stabbed him repeatedly.

An Overport man, who allegedly forced his “friend” to take drugs, repeatedly stabbed him, and 'left him for dead', made a brief appearance in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old was arrested and charged with kidnapping, assault and attempted murder in March.

According to the charge sheet, it is alleged that the man had unlawfully and intentionally assaulted his friend, by forcing him to sniff cocaine on March 29.

It is alleged that he thereafter stabbed his friend in the head, neck, arm and stomach before driving him against his will from Asherville to Umdloti, where he was left.
