Lok Adalats were organised in Tiruchi and Perambalur districts on Saturday during which several pending cases were settled.The cases taken up pertained to criminal compoundable offences, cheque bounce, bank recovery, matrimonial cases, motor accident, land acquisition and other civil cases.A total of 19,079 pending litigation and pre-litigation cases were taken up in Tiruchi district. Of these, 4,520 cases were settled. The total amount awarded was ₹46.50 crore.Judicial officers, lawyers, general public, officers from bank and insurance companies and revenue officials participated in the Lok Adalat, a press release from the District Legal Services Authority, Tiruchi, said.Over 1,000 pending cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat in Perambalur district.
