The protester further accused the authorities of indifference toward the plight of victims’ families, while condemning a culture of luxury and excess among political leaders.

Nigerians under thee Take-It-Back Movement staged a protest in Canada on Democracy Day, June 12, calling for the immediate and unconditional release of abducted Nigerian schoolchildren, while knocking the administration of President Bola Tinubu for mishandling the country’s security situation.

The demonstrators, who gathered in solidarity with victims of recent mass abductions in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, accused the government of negligence and double standards in responding to kidnappings affecting ordinary citizens.

Speaking during the protest, one of the female organisers delivered an emotional and fiery address, stating that the Nigerian government would have acted with urgency if those abducted were children of Nigeria president.

“Please bring back these children. You know what you can do to bring them back. If Seyi Tinubu was among those kidnapped, you know he would be back home by now,” she said.
