The protesters also demanded an urgent action on the worsening insecurity, economic hardship, and the persistent bad governance in Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu.
Members of the Take It Back (TIB) Movement in Ondo State on Friday joined the ongoing nationwide June 12 protest, taking to the streets to demand the immediate release of the schoolchildren and their teachers abducted from three schools in Oyo State.
The protesters also demanded an urgent action on the worsening insecurity, economic hardship, and the persistent bad governance in Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu.
The protesters, who marched through major roads in Akure, the Ondo State capital, carried placards bearing inscriptions condemning rising insecurity, food prices, unemployment, and the deteriorating living conditions facing millions of Nigerians.
The demonstration formed part of coordinated protests held across the country as Nigeria commemorates this year’s Democracy Day, while drawing attention to the country's mounting socio-economic challenges.
