Sixteen local projects have been awarded funding from the Samoa Reef Resilience Hub, supporting efforts to protect and restore Samoa’s coral reefs and connected coastal and marine ecosystems.

The grants include support for 14 community-based groups, the Samoa Voyaging Society, and the National University of Samoa, reflecting a strong commitment to combining traditional knowledge, science, and community leadership to strengthen ocean resilience in Samoa.

The Resilient Reefs Pasifika, Samoa Reef Resilience Hub is a collaborative initiative designed to strengthen the protection, restoration, and sustainable management of Samoa’s coral reefs and surrounding ecosystems through a ridge-to-reef approach.

It functions as an on-the-ground demonstration of collective impact, bringing together communities, government agencies, civil society, researchers, and donors to design and deliver resilience solutions at scale.

The Samoa Hub acts as a financing facility that supports local entities working to advance ecosystem resilience, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable livelihoods.
