Trabzonspor have begun scouting Uzbekistan captain Eldor Shomurodov as a potential replacement for Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu, with the Turkish club bracing for a possible departure of their star forward this summer, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Turkish newspaper Taka Gazete reported that despite public insistence from club president Ertuğrul Doğan that Onuachu is not for sale — even at €20m — Trabzonspor’s management have quietly started identifying alternatives in the transfer market as interest in the Nigerian continues to intensify.

Shomurodov, who currently plays for İstanbul Başakşehir, has emerged as the leading name on their shortlist. Related News Eagles drop to 7th on most valuable African teams list Onyeka nears Bundesliga switch Ogbu out for three months after surgery

The 30-year-old shared the 2025/26 Süper Lig Golden Boot with Onuachu after both strikers finished the season with 22 goals apiece — making him a natural fit should a vacancy arise.
