Coinciding with the rising probability of Washington and the Islamic Republic reaching an agreement, Friday prayer imams across various Iranian cities rejected any form of compromise with Washington during their June 12 sermons, emphasizing continued “resistance” against the United States and Israel. The official pulpits of the Islamic Republic persisted in emphasizing the continuation of the confrontation with the United States.

In Tehran’s Friday prayer, Ahmad Khatami described the ongoing confrontation as a “war between faith and infidelity,” stating that the Islamic Republic will ultimately emerge victorious and emphasizing that the U.S. and Israel only understand “the language of force.” Pointing to the retaliatory strikes of recent weeks, he said that the military officials of the Islamic Republic have fulfilled their promises and will deliver a harsh response in the event of any fresh action by the U.S. or Israel.

In Sari, Mohammad-Baqer Mohammadi Laeini pointed to statements by American officials regarding forcing Tehran into an agreement, saying that the U.S. still does not know Iran. Invoking the slogan “Far from us is humiliation,” he emphasized that the Islamic Republic will not accept the “disgrace of compromising with America,” adding that Iran is a “nation of martyrdom, not a nation of compromise.”
