In a tragic incident, a 50-year-old woman from North India died on the spot when a fire broke out in the illegal shed where she was engaged in making fuse for crackers on Wednesday near here in Virudhunagar district.Police said that Savithri Ghosh, 50, and four others were working in the shed, situated in an isolated place near Rajapalayam. They were making fuse for crackers and had been working here at least for about six months.A police officer said that the shed belonged to a man identified as Ravichandran. It was used to rear pigs. However, he had allegedly let the shed for use of making fuse to a person whose name was given as Ajit of Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district.As the workers were lifting the chemicals in the shed, there was a sudden blast in which the fire instantly killed Savithri Ghosh. Four others Meera, Sanjeev and a welder Alagunambi and another worker Kodeeswaran of Krishnapuram suffered multiple injuries.They were rushed to the Rajapalayam Government Hospital for treatment.
