Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum seeking the Center’s support for a slew of infrastructure, education, industrial and connectivity projects which are critical to the State.Reddy outlined the State Government ‘s goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047 through investments in education, skills, infrastructure, manufacturing and innovationReferring to a proposal he made at the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog for the constitution held today for an “M-6 Task Force” under the leadership of the Prime Minister for the development of six major economic growth engines of the country—Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, he suggested creation of a special fund of ₹6 lakh crore, with an allocation of ₹1 lakh crore each to strengthen urban infrastructure in these cities.The Chief Minister also requested Modi’s support for the establishment of an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Hyderabad. The State Government has offered 200 acres of encumbrance-free land in Hyderabad for the institution.Infra projectsSeeking support for major infrastructure projects, the Chief Minister requested expeditious approval and implementation of the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (Northern and Southern Corridors), the proposed Hyderabad–Amaravati–Bandar Port Expressway, and a four-lane elevated corridor from Mannanur to Srisailam on NH-765.On urban mobility, Reddy sought approval for Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II, covering 122.9 km across seven corridors at an estimated cost of ₹38,595 crore, as a joint venture project between the Government of India and the Government of Telangana. He also requested support for the Musi River Rejuvenation Project and the development of Bharat Future City, envisioned as a next-generation sustainable urban hub.Published on June 11, 2026
