A 22-year-old high school learner has been arrested and charged following a violent incident captured on video and widely circulated on social media, where a 21-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted during a confrontation in Kagisanong, Free State.
This comes after a student teacher from the University of the Free State (UFS), Masego Mogorosi, who was attending practical teaching duties at Lekhulong Secondary School, reported that she and a colleague were assaulted while out for lunch, after a road incident involving a motorist escalated into violence.
Police spokesperson Police spokesperson Sergeant Mahlomola Peter Kareli said the suspect is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on 12 June 2026.
Police confirmed the arrest and urged restraint as investigations continue.
