Guillermo Ochoa is about to do something only two other footballers in history have managed. The Mexican goalkeeper has been selected for his sixth FIFA World Cup squad, placing him in a club so exclusive that his only company is Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Mexico announced their 26-player roster on May 31 and June 1, and Ochoa’s name was on it. He will be 41 years old during the tournament.

Two decades of World Cup football

Ochoa’s World Cup journey started back in 2006. Since then, he’s been a fixture for Mexico in 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022.

Over the course of his international career, Ochoa has accumulated more than 150 caps for Mexico.
