In a move aimed at decongesting traffic and streamlining regional connectivity, the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has set a deadline of June 30 to finalise the alignment for the proposed 120-foot semi-ring road connecting Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, and Anakapalli districts.VMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner N. Tej Bharat, who reviewed the progress of the project recently, directed officials and the project consultant to ensure that the final alignment plan is ready by the end of this month. The proposed road, which stretches from Rambilli to Bhogapuram, is a key infrastructure project envisioned by the State government to cater to the long-term traffic requirements of the growing metropolitan region.During the review meeting, Mr. Tej Bharat emphasised the importance of comprehensive planning. He instructed the consultants to identify the exact requirements for the construction of both major and minor bridges along the route and incorporate the details into the final report. Furthermore, the Commissioner directed officials to map out all land parcels earmarked for development within the project plan, ensuring that the details are documented with precision.The meeting focused on the strategic necessity of the project in fostering seamless connectivity across the three districts.
