Police in York region are urging the public to remain cautious following reports of three separate instances of “concerning coyote behaviour” in the last 24 hours in Markham, including in areas that have seen multiple attacks in recent months.

Const. James Dickinson told the Star in an email that officers responded to two separate coyote-related interactions in the area of Mingay Avenue and Bur Oak Avenue in Markham at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, including one incident that involved a child who “was scratched by a coyote’s paw.”
