A child was bitten by a coyote in Markham, making it the second violent encounter with the animal in the city in just five days.
York Regional Police said a child was bitten around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Roy Rainey Avenue and Bur Oak Avenue area. Police added that the coyote encounter was not their call, and that they weren’t sure where exactly the incident happened.
