In a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, and made available to SaharaReporters, the movement urged youths, workers, students, market women, civil society organisations, professionals, and other concerned citizens to converge on the Federal Secretariat in Port Harcourt from 7am for what it described as a peaceful civic assembly and demonstration.

Pro-democracy group, Take It Back Movement (TIB) has called on residents of Rivers State to participate in a nationwide civic action scheduled for June 12, 2026, to protest worsening insecurity, economic hardship, poverty, and what it described as shrinking democratic freedoms in Nigeria.
