The decision to have Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President, visit Warsaw amid the deterioration of Polish-Ukrainian relations was the right one.
This was emphasized by former Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz in an interview with Ukrinform.
“I believe he did the right thing by coming, listening to the Poles’ views, and drawing conclusions. And it seems that a decision was made then that Zelensky should conduct his international trips from Chisinau, not from Rzeszów. This forced Poland to seriously reconsider,” he said.
In turn, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that the choice of where the President of Ukraine conducts his international trips is an internal matter for our country. According to him, Poland cannot dictate this to Ukraine, and at the time, the airport in Rzeszów was open and ready to receive Zelensky.
As reported, Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov visited Warsaw last weekend, where he held meetings at the President’s Office and the Council of Ministers regarding tensions in bilateral relations stemming from a complex history.
