The Nigeria Police Force has announced an immediate ban on the use of vehicles with unregistered or concealed number plates, warning that offenders will be subjected to appropriate sanctions.
The Force said the measure is intended to enhance public safety, strengthen security operations and improve the capacity of law enforcement agencies to identify and track vehicles linked to criminal activities.
Announcing the directive in Abuja on Tuesday, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, ordered Commissioners of Police, Tactical Commanders and Heads of Formations across the country to intensify enforcement operations against vehicles operating without registration plates or with concealed registration numbers.
