The Oyo State Police Command, on Friday, announced that it had commenced a statewide enforcement operation targeting unmarked vehicular objects, fake and obscured number plates, as well as unauthorised covering of vehicle plates.

The command made this announcement in a statement released by its spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade in Ibadan, the state capital.

This enforcement action, according to the Police, which commenced on Thursday, was aimed at ensuring strict compliance with lawful vehicle identification standards and enhancing overall public safety and security architecture within the State.

The statement said, “In furtherance of its unwavering commitment to ensuring a safer and more secure environment and in line with ongoing efforts to rid the State of violent crime and other forms of criminality, has commenced a statewide enforcement operation targeting unmarked vehicular objects, fake and obscured number plates, as well as unauthorized covering of vehicle plates.
