The Nigeria Police Force has ordered its operatives across major border corridors and monitoring units nationwide to immediately arrest, impound and investigate any vehicle found with a covered number plate.

According to an internal police wireless message obtained by SaharaReporters.

The directive, issued by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of the Border Patrol Force (BPF), Abuja, was transmitted through a police wireless communication dated June 10, 2026.

The message was addressed to police formations and border security coordinators in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Kwara, Sokoto, Katsina, Kebbi, Niger, Adamawa, Yobe and Cross River states, among others.
