IIT Madras is set to participate in ‘Bharat Innovates 2026’, where it will showcase its strategic research initiatives and cutting-edge innovations through 15 IIT Madras-incubated start-ups from June 14 to 16 in Nice, France. The international technology showcase event highlights India’s technology ventures from centrally funded technical institutes and higher education institutions to a global audience of investors, policymakers, industry leaders, research institutions, and technology partners. At the event, IIT Madras will feature five research projects in deep-tech innovation and indigenous technology development: Hyperloop Technology, marking technology-lab-grown diamonds, 5G and 6G technologies, Port Automation, and a domain-specific low-compute indigenous AI ecosystem. These projects drive two of the 13 thematic areas of Bharat Innovates, focusing on the Blue Economy and Next-Generation Communications technologies. One such start-up to participate is IIT Madras-incubated TuTr Hyperloop, which has developed key Hyperloop technologies and is advancing its practical applications in metro rail systems and cargo transportation at ports. The Indian Centre for Lab Grown Diamonds (IIT Madras) will showcase its advanced laser-based technologies capable of embedding invisible QR codes, logos, and customised markings within diamond seeds.Under IITM’s extensive work in 5G and 6G technologies, end-to-end indigenous capabilities spanning telecommunications hardware, software, standards and testbeds will be featured. Apart from that, IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NMICPS), will exhibit its domain-specific, low-compute indigenous AI ecosystem.
