Indian Institute of Technology Madras and IITM Global have exchanged seven commercial MoUs on the first day of Bharat Innovates 2026, collectively unlocking nearly $100 million in value creation. The seven MoUs were exchanged between Indian deep-tech start-ups and their international partners, most of whom were French, along with two institutional MoUs to advance global market access, innovation and investment.Deep-tech start-upsThe five deep-tech start-up partnerships include Agnikul Cosmos with ICEYE, Finland, and Safran, France; Detect Technologies with TotalEnergies, TuTr Hyperloop with thyssenkrupp, iElectron Technologies with ALTEN, and Indian Angel Network’s potential investment in The ePlane Company.The institutional MoUs include partnerships between IITM Global and Agna Capital that established Bharat Innovates Fund, and a collaboration between IIT Global and SouthwestX that aids Indian start-ups in accessing German and French markets.Apart from MoUs, Bharat Innovates also saw research presentations around Hyperloop transportation, 5G and 6G communications, port automation, lab-grown diamond technologies and AI technologies among others.(The report was filed by Bl intern Mahalakshmi G)Published on June 16, 2026
