Environment dayA campus cleanliness drive and sapling plantation were organised to observe World Environment Day at Periyar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Tiruchi recently. The programmes aimed to create awareness among students about environmental conservation, climate action, biodiversity protection, and sustainable living practices. Participants pledged to reduce plastic usage, conserve natural resources, and contribute towards a cleaner and greener environment. A total of 80 National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers took part under the guidance of the NSS Programme Officer R. Dinesh.At Kongu Nadu Engineering College in Tolurpatti near Thottiyam, retired scientist Mathiazhagan, spoke on the possibilities of making 43,000 sq km in Tamil Nadu come under green cover, during an Environment Day programme. Students participated in tree plantation activities.Alumni reunionAlumni of the 2001–05 batch from the Departments of Computer Science and Information Technology at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Engineering College, Perambalur, met for an emotional reunion recently. The old students met their friends and the professors who taught them while joyfully reminiscing about their college days. They pledged their readiness to provide professional mentorship, technical training, internship opportunities, and placement assistance to the current batch of students.
