Counterintelligence and investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the National Police, have detained a man linked to an explosion at one of the Nova Post terminals in the Obolonskyi district of Kyiv on June 5.

According to Ukrinform, the SSU reported this.

The incident occurred in the morning while parcels were being unloaded. One of them detonated.

According to the investigation, the package contained fragmentation munitions, the shipment of which is prohibited, and the sender of the dangerous parcel was a 35-year-old native of the Donetsk region who currently resides in the Zaporizhzhia region.

“Disregarding safety rules, he sent illegally acquired weapons to an acquaintance in Kyiv,” the SSU noted.
