A parcel explosion at a postal sorting terminal in Kyiv’s Obolon district on Friday, June 5, killed one person and injured two others, authorities said. A 59-year-old employee died at the scene, while two others, aged 37 and 41, were injured. Emergency responders, explosives experts, police investigators, rescuers and medics were deployed to the site, which was cordoned off shortly after the incident. Kyiv prosecutors later said the case has been registered under Part 3 of Article 258 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code, covering a terrorist act resulting in death. The investigation is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Kyiv and the Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
