Members of GoPals, a volunteer-driven organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable living and conservation of Indian breed cows, conducted its first-ever ‘Walk2HEAL’ walkathon at Divyaramam (Nagaravanam park) in Tirupati on Sunday (June 7, 2026). The message was to promote the products of Desi cows in every walk of life. The inaugural edition witnessed the participation of more than 500 members, including local residents and social activists. After a brief yoga session by the participants, the walkathon covered a distance of four km through the scenic trails of the park, abutting the Tirumala hills. The series of interactive and educational activities that followed included a workshop on crafting eco-friendly ‘Gomaya’ Ganapati idols and keychains. Similarly, a seed ball making drive was taken up on the occasion of World Environment Day to promote afforestation. 15,000 seed balls using the seeds of native tree species like neem, banyan, and jamun were made and distributed.By not using any form of plastic, the organisers made it a ‘zero-waste event’. Also, the breakfast served to the participants was made using millets procured from farmers practicing 100% natural farming methods. Published - June 07, 2026 08:35 pm IST
